Gunzenhausen/Augsburg, Germany, 16 October 2026 – Hetzner was honored for the first time with Gold in the “Sovereign Cloud” category at this year’s IT Awards presented by Vogel IT-Medien. The awards ceremony took place on 15 October 2026 as part of a festive gala at Hotel Maximilian’s in Augsburg, Germany.
The IT Awards are among the most renowned reader awards in the German-speaking IT industry. For the twelfth time, the various portals of Vogel IT-Medien called on their readers to vote for their favorite IT providers and manufacturers. 60,000 votes were cast this year.

The award in the “Sovereign Cloud” category underscores the growing importance of European cloud solutions for digital independence. Hetzner relies on its own infrastructure in its data centers in Nuremberg, Falkenstein, and Helsinki. Hetzner’s European data center locations are certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and enable companies and individuals to operate their data and applications within the European legal framework. This allows customers to retain control over their data, applications, and IT systems.
