Hetzner Online, a provider of hosting and cloud solutions based in Gunzenhausen since 1997, celebrated an important milestone today for the company’s continued growth: The official groundbreaking marked the start of construction for the new Hetzner Campus in the Nord industrial park in Gunzenhausen, Germany.
Hetzner welcomed District Administrator Markus Gläser, Mayor Matthias Hörr, representatives of the city council and the economic development agency, as well as the architects, specialist planners, and civil engineering firms involved to the official groundbreaking ceremony. Together, the guests celebrated the start of the construction project, which Hetzner presented in more detail during the event.
The new Hetzner Campus will be built over the coming years on a plot of land measuring approximately 70,000 square meters. The building will have a floor area of 13,500 square meters and is designed to accommodate more than 500 employees.
A unique feature is the building’s architecture: the campus is being designed in the shape of an “H” for Hetzner. Initially, one of the building’s wings will be fully developed. The remaining areas will provide additional capacity for the company’s future growth.
The new campus is not only intended to provide additional office space. Numerous areas for collaboration, interaction, and relaxation are planned. These include several central gathering spots in the form of so-called “marketplaces” with coffee bars or kitchenettes and informal meeting areas, a restaurant, a rooftop terrace, and a fitness area. Additionally, space is allocated for vacation childcare, a showroom for Hetzner technology, a game room, a training room, and a physical therapy room. Four hotel rooms will be available to employees from other Hetzner locations during their stays in Gunzenhausen.
With the campus, Hetzner is creating additional space for further growth and modern workplaces. At the same time, the company is underscoring its long-term commitment to Gunzenhausen as a business location.
“With the new campus, we are laying the groundwork to continue our growth in the coming years. At the same time, this investment is a clear commitment to Gunzenhausen and to our long-term development at this location,” explains Günther Müller, CEO of Hetzner Online.
Construction work on the new campus has already begun. “Civil engineering work on the building is scheduled to be completed by February 2027. The structural work will begin immediately afterward. The new Hetzner campus is scheduled to open in early 2030,” adds company spokesperson Christian Fitz.
