General Purpose:
For business applications
For workloads
with high CPU usage
With General Purpose instances, you get dedicated vCPUs that offer predictable and consistently high processor performance. This is perfect for typical business applications that rely on a predictable infrastructure.
Classic areas of use include ERP and inventory management systems, multi-user environments, public game servers, microservices, and large databases. Billing is hourly, transparent, and without hidden costs.
For workloads with consistently high utilization, such as data analysis or web shops.
Consistent and predictable performance for good planning and continuous availability.
Based on the latest available processor generations from Intel® and AMD.
Dedicated resources that give you independence from the workload of other clients and projects.
Cloud comparison: save on your cloud expenses
Hetzner Cloud is the winner in terms of price-performance ratio
The independent price-performance check shows that Hetzner offers significantly more computing power per dollar compared to its competitors. The analysis is based on objective benchmark data from sparecores.com and highlights how efficiently our cloud servers operate in relation to their costs.
Is a dedicated cloud server
the right choice for your project?
Dedicated Resources
With our dedicated plans, you get vCPUs that are assigned only to you. This means you have no “noisy neighbors.” Performance remains consistent, predictable, and independent. This makes the plan particularly attractive for business applications.
These can include large database servers, data analysis and rendering, CI/CD pipelines, multi-user environments, or services with a high number of parallel sessions, such as web shops or public game servers.
Dedicated resources are the right choice for high workloads that require stable computing power.
MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB: Dedicated cloud servers provide a reliable foundation for this.
Kubernetes clusters and Docker environments benefit from predictable performance.
SaaS applications, APIs, or web shops that need to be stable and respond quickly around the clock.
ERP, CRM, or BI systems based on high-performance and secure infrastructure.
Further add-ons that can be booked optionally are backups and snapshots.
Our performance promise: 99.9% uptime and 24/7 support

Frequently asked questions
-
What is your billing model?
Cloud products are billed on an hourly basis using a postpaid billing model. This means that usage costs are not charged immediately when a resource is created. Instead, the accumulated usage is recorded and invoiced in the following billing cycle. Even if a Cloud Server or other resources have already been deleted, charges for the time they were active may still remain on the account until the next invoice is generated. As long as there are outstanding charges that have not yet been invoiced, the account cannot be permanently deleted. Account deletion is only possible once all invoices have been issued and fully paid.
-
Is there any way to get a custom configuration?
Customized virtual servers (additional RAM, additional/larger drives etc.) are not currently available.
-
What is the bandwidth of your Cloud Servers?
The host systems for our Cloud instances all have a redundant 10 Gbits connection. This connection is shared by all instances on the host. We do not offer bandwidth guarantees for our Cloud servers, but you can expect about 300-500 Mbits.
-
Is there a library to access Hetzner Cloud from my programming language?
We currently maintain official open source libraries for Go and Python. You can find libraries for other languages created by the community in our Awesome Hetzner Cloud List. You are also welcome to develop something yourself! Take a look at our API documentation at docs.hetzner.cloud.
-
Can I install Windows?
Right now we are focusing on support for Linux as an operating system. If you wish, you may install Windows on your own, and we have seen successful installations done. However, we will not provide any support for Windows.
-
What linux distributions do you support?
Hetzner supports a range of common Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, CentOS, Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux. You can choose these when creating Cloud Servers or have them preinstalled on Dedicated Servers; you can also install any other OS manually via KVM/ISO.
-
Does Hetzner have an SLA?
Yes, we have an SLA that guarantees 99.9% uptime. In the event of a clearly defined malfunction, you will receive a credit note. You can find all the important information about this in our SLA.
