• HETZNER INTRODUCES THREE NEW DEDICATED STORAGE SERVERS

    The German hoster and data center operator Hetzner just introduced three new economical dedicated servers which are especially designed to serve as reliable and secure storage for large amounts of data. All three models combine swift NVMe speeds with enormous HDD storage capacity, and lend themselves to applications like large data storage, data archiving, database hosting, multimedia storage, and streaming. Or clients can use them as an object storage solution. All HDDs in these models are hotswap capable, meaning that they can be swapped during operation.

    The new entry level SX model, the SX65, centers around the AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X “Matisse” 8-core (Zen2) CPU. For storage, it comes with 2 x 1 TB (Gen3) NVMe SSDs for lightning-fast access plus 4 x 22 TB SATA HDDs to provide roomy data capacity. For memory, the base configuration is equipped with 64 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM, which can be increased to as much as 128 GB. Together with an IPv4 address, the SX65 costs from just € 104.00 a month or € 0.1666 per hour, plus a one-time setup fee of € 39.00.

    The intermediate model, the SX135, houses the AMD Ryzen™ 9 3900 12-core “Matisse” (Zen2) processor and more DDR4 ECC RAM - 128 GB of it. Storage-wise, it has 2 x 1.92 TB (Gen3) NVMe Datacenter Edition SSDs and 8 x 22 TB SATA HDDs. It makes the perfect partner for massive storage management. The SX135 is available from just € 204.00 a month or € 0.3269 an hour plus a one-time setup fee of € 79.00.

    The true titan of this storage server trio is the SX295, which features the AMD EPYC™ 7502P 32-core “Rome” (Zen2) CPU. With its totally massive 2 x 7.68 (Gen4) NVMe Datacenter Edition SSDs and 14 x 22 TB SATA HDDs, it is THE server for professional storage use cases. The base model comes with 256 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM, but this can be expanded to as much as 1024 GB. The SX295 costs from just € 384.00 a month or € 0.6154 an hour plus a one-time setup fee of € 79.00.

    Hetzner provides a 1 Gbit/s connection for all three servers. In addition, the company has ISO-27001 certification and operates its data centers in Germany and Helsinki, Finland in accordance with EU and data regulations.
